You will most likely need to use the driver in step 0 and make sure that you do step 2. I got wireless to work on a Dell Latitude D which has this driver: What do you think about this? I was previously running my card under the B43 firmware on 7. I understand this is pretty basic stuff but I can imagine when I was new to ubuntu not really understanding all the basics and getting hung up here. I am now trying this tutorial but I am having some problems getting it to work: If it is not check out bcm43cx link since it basically tells you where to download the windows driver for whatever version card you have: Looking at device network tools the hardware is running but not linking to the network.
Today June 4thI updated the Kernel to 2. I’m not sure what this all means though. Id pick ndiswrapper — the bcm43xx driver is bcm43zx in the kernel and by default the bcm43xx driver is loaded into the kernel at boot. The chipset on my card is rev3. Thanks for the guide but I am a little confused with this step: The only other comment is that if you are using NDISwrapper, you only need to add the b44 driver only if your wired connection uses the b44 driver.

As soon as I get to the sudo modprobe ndiswrapper part, when I issue the command, I get a message saying killed then, if I dare going on, when i restart the PC the system locks up, therefore rendering me unable to boot ubuntu. I rebooted using Kernel 2. I get wireless going in 8. SYS plus its companion.
This should go out as a critical update. I have halted for now. Have I done something wrong?
My e-machines M, amd 64, hardy i, broadcom rev 03 is connected wirelessly as wlan0 using 2f for step 2. I have what i think is a weird problem.
